Webinar description

Building a Resource Management function is rarely a clean, linear journey - especially in fast-growing organizations or those navigating mergers and acquisitions. Early-stage Resource Management functions often start with fragmented processes, limited visibility into skills and capacity, and well-intentioned managers stretched thin trying to “make resourcing work.” In this LEAP webinar, we’ll sit down with two experienced RMO leaders to share an honest, behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to build an RMO from the ground up. This practical conversation will follow the actual questions they faced when launching their RMO: where they started, what they prioritized first, the unexpected roadblocks they encountered, and how they built trust in the early days. This session focuses on real decisions, trade-offs, and lessons learned - what worked well, what didn’t, and what they would do differently today. While the discussion is especially valuable for organizations early in their RMO journey, it will also resonate with teams navigating mergers, integrating multiple entities, or resetting their resourcing approach.

What you'll learn:

  • What a real-world RMO “starting point” often looks like - processes, tools, and culture
  • How to decide what to prioritize first when everything feels urgent
  • The most common and surprising roadblocks when launching an RMO from scratch
  • Practical ways to overcome resistance, fear, and change fatigue
  • How to build trust with different stakeholders early on
  • Lessons learned from operating an RMO in a large, complex, project-heavy environment
  • Early signals and KPIs that indicate whether a new RMO is on the right track
